Two parts to this post. Part One Confession.
I have a crazy, insane cowboy fetish. Srsly, If I lived in America I would be the biggest buckle bunny of all time. Hmm, worn denim, hard thighs and broad shoulders. What more could a girl want, right? And who is to blame for my cowboy fetish. One Lorelei James.
Lorelei James sucked me in with her very hawt and very naughty but always sweet Rough Riders series. Immediately I became addicted. I had to get all the cowboy pron I could find. Which led to the other greatest discovery of all time. GAY cowboys.
Anyhoo, as well as being a primo storyteller Lorelei is also an around classy lady. How do I know this? Because she hasn't had a restraining order slapped on me yet. She puts up with my constant cyber stalking of her and anything she writes with grace and patience. In fact, I might say she even encourages me to indulge in my cowboy fetish. That's right, she's a dirty, low down pimp.
A couple of months ago, she got in touch and asked if I would like an ARC of her new book 'Coralled.' It's the beginning of a new series entitled 'Blacktop Cowboys'. It's being published in August by NAL in Trade paperback format.
First in a new series about some hard-riding rodeo cowboys...and the women who can rein them in.
Sports therapist Lainie Capshaw has been rehabilitating injured cowboys long enough to know that a charming western drawl combined with a fine physical form doesn't mean you fall for the man.
So no one is more surprised than Lainie when she finds herself involved with not one, but two different men: Hank Lawson, a bullfighter, and Kyle Gilchrist, a bull rider. Lainie feels guilty about her two-timing, but it doesn't keep her from doubling her fun-that is until Hank catches her with Kyle.
She's shocked that Hank isn't mad. But she's more shocked to learn Hank and Kyle are hometown buddies. But when the men offer to share her-in every way-she knows that she's going to have to choose the one man who can give her the ride of her life...
Now when Lorelei got in touch and after I stopped doing my happy dance because
A. I don'y actively solicit ARC's so it's always a treat and privilege when I get one
B. It's a new Lorelei James book
C. I didn't have to beg
I wrote back saying 'Are you f***ing kidding me, of course I want a copy'. She sent one and didn't ask that I review it anywhere, or tweet about it or anything. She just gave me it so I could read it and enjoy it (See classy lady! That can shoot guns!)
And read I have and enjoy it I did. But, I don't do reviews anymore since it became more like work than fun but I feel the overwhelming need to do something and so we come to Part Two of my post. A competition.
I decided to pay it forward and give up my copy of 'Coralled' to one lucky winner.
So here we go. It's the first time I have run a competition so bear with me.
Here's what you have to do.
Write a blog post with a cowboy theme (and preferably lots of half nekkid cowboys.) It can be anything. Your favourite cowboy book, why you like cowboy books, who is your favourite cowboy author. Anything, It just has to have cowboys in it and a link to this competition. Then come back here and comment with a link to your post.
Also if you tweet or facebook about the competition, mention that and that will get you an extra entry.
The competition closes on Sun 18th of July at midnight GMT. which gives every one plenty of time to find loads of yummy cowboy pictures. This competition is open to everyone. And the prize. My copy of 'Coralled' (it is an uncorrected proof copy - not a finished book) and an random book from my TBR.
